A few of us Placitans recognize the importance of being able to preserve food, due to the potential of food scarcity and the high cost of food. We are putting together a program where we share our knowledge of the various ways to preserve food. We would like to do an introductory class on fermentation. This will not be a hands-on workshop, but a class on the types of fermentation, the reasons to ferment, the tools needed to ferment, etc. If there is interest after this, we can do a hands-on workshop where everyone makes something and goes home with something tasty. Our end goal is to have a community of Placitans who share important skills and knowledge going forward. Public Meeting, open to the general public.
