Spring Fling
Various forms of this event have been held over the years. The current Spring Fling will have Books/DVDs/Puzzles, Baked Goods, Talavera, a wide variety of Plants generously sponsored by the Jardineros Plant Whiisperers, resale Jewelry,and Consignment of quality household goods for sale sale at the library. Placitas Holiday Market - At the Placitas Community LIbrary
For 38 years, the popular Placitas Holiday Fine Arts and Crafts Sale was held the weekend before Thanksgiving. When it did not return after the pandemic in 2020, the community came together and organized the Placitas Holiday Market to focus on local artisans. The first year back, the Market returned to the Placitas Winery benefiting the Placitas Community Library. This event evolved so that now, the Placitas Holiday Market is held on the traditional weekend before Thanksgiving with events at multiple sites, often as many as seven located on or near Highway 165. At the many locations, you will find many local arts and crafts as well as food and drink, all benefitting different charities. At the Placitas Community Library, you will find Arts and Crafts, Books/DVDs/Puzzles, Baked Goods, Local resale Jewelry, Personalized Memorial Bricks and Talavera for sale. Additionally, the library will have a raffle for dozens of baskets full of great items that have been donated by many in the community. This event typically draws over a thousand visitors at various times during the 2-day event.
