“Nature Up Close” Insects! Arachnids! Myriapods! Oh My!

What can you discover when you look up close and study? You will build the best shelter for a bee or butterfly.
This program is free for all, courtesy of the Explora Children’s Science Museum and the library.

You do not need to be a library patron to participate but you will need to pick up a bag of materials so your children will be able to perform the experiments.

There will be 15 bags available (one per child) distributed on a first-come basis on the following days:

  • Sat., 5/15 (1-5)
  • Tues., 5/18 (3-7)
  • Thurs., 5/20 (10-2)

To reserve a bag, please email us at childrens@placitaslibrary.com . Be sure to include each child’s name, age, and the name of a parent, grandparent, or guardian. We can request more bags if needed if given enough notice. So please let us know soon if you are planning to join us on May 22.

Stay tuned for info about our virtual Summer Reading Program and Reading Challenge: Tales and Tails featuring live and recorded programs about Australian animals and music, a dog show, a magic show, a reptile show, and a shadow puppet camp. Saturday mornings in June and July! We will be giving away books and prizes all summer long to those who participate.
