Children’s Programs

Kyle Hollingsworth, Placitas resident and artist, will join us in October.  She will read a new book written by her friend Maggie Wheeler, Ebeneezer Helps a Friend. Come dressed for Halloween!  There will be treats and activities!

Halloween Party for our patrons, infant - 12 and their families. There will be a D.J., dancing, games, and Trick or Treat!  Come dressed up for Halloween!

A children's art exhibit is being held from November 8-18 at the Placitas Library. The art was created by Placitas Elementary School Students under the guidance of Joanne Collier, art teacher.  Please come enjoy their beautiful work.

Mikail Deese, founder of On a Wing and a Prayer is bringing owls she has rescued. Your children will be able to meet the owls and hear stories about them. Please join us. This will be fun!

Come celebrate the holidays at our Pre-K Story Time with your little ones.  We will have books for all your celebrations, Christmas,Kwanzaa, and Hanukkah.  There will be activities and snacks too.  Our special guest is Santa Claus who will be singing and playing his guitar.  Don't miss this one.  It will be fun!

The Children's Committee invites you and yours to our annual Holiday Open House celebrating the traditions and cultures of New Mexico. There will be stories, making luminarias, and decorating cookies. Children will receive a new book courtesy of the Mary M. Cozy up with Warm Winter Stories by Jan Brett.  PCL Volunteer, Kathy Suydam, will read winter-themed stories, The Mitten and The Three Snow Bears.  Wear your mittens and bring a teddy bear to listen with you!

Glass artist, Karen Shatar, will be at the library with beautiful glass  hearts and glass feathers for you to decorate as a Valentine gift or just for yourself.  She is providing materials. Please RSVP nntimmons@comcast.net by January 31st with the number of adults and children.
