Lunar New Year Celebration: Year of the Sheep

Unfortunately due to the road conditions we have decided that it is best to cancel our Lunar New Year Celebration scheduled to begin at 2PM today at the Placitas Library.  If you visit the library tomorrow there will some activities that were planned for today that you may pick up and complete at home with your family.  The dragon is at the library and available for family photos.  Placi would be delighted to be in a picture with you.

The Orphan Trains

Between 1854 and 1929, so-called “orphan trains” transported more than 200,000 orphaned, abandoned, and homeless children from the coastal cities of the eastern United States to the Midwest to find them new homes. Cory Franklin will share her grandfather’s story.
