Art Under Glass, the September art exhibit at PCL, features the work of an exceptional group of artists. Come see their unique perspectives of the world transformed into visions through photography, pastel, watercolor, and silk painting.
The show will be on exhibit during normal library hours from Saturday, September 2, through Thursday, September 28, in the Collin Meeting Room. To meet these interesting and talented artists, please join us for a free public reception from 5:00 to 7:00 on Friday evening, September 8.
Placitas Rock Fest
Saturday, September 16 9am to noon. Bring a rock you found in Placitas and our team of geologists will help you identify it. Dr. Jayne Aubele, senior geologist of the New Mexico Museum of Natural History, will speak on the geology of the north Sandias at 11am.
Includes a special children’s geology program under tents with kiddie packs of identified rock samples.
Tamed by a Bear
September 23, 2:00 pm Priscilla Stuckey reads from Tamed by a Bear. What if your still small voice had a name? And what if you could talk with it, even befriend it? Priscilla Stuckey was a writer in her fifties when life nudged her toward such a friendship. It wasn’t a direction she wanted to go.
WHEN: Saturday, September 23, 7:30 am to 2 pm
WHERE: 221 Highway 165, two miles east of I-25 in Placitas in the west field of Homestead Village – “the Merc”
HOW: $10 FOR A SPACE, optional $10 table rentals and $15 pop up tent rentals
Please no food or drink sales and leave firearms at home.
Donations of salable items can be dropped off at the library for the PCL sales table.
