- About Us
We have learned to our dismay that the water table beneath the library has dropped drastically in recent months and can no longer fill the well that we share with the Placitas Fire Department. As a result, our bathrooms, drinking fountains and sinks are out of commission until this problem is solved.
We have acquired a port-a-potty, for your convenience, with apologies for subjecting you to this indignity. And we will have bottled water and hand wipes available. We will do our utmost to keep the library open, and to continue checking out books and dvds and providing internet access.
Unfortunately, we are incurring extra cost with the port-a-potty, and this will take a toll on our operating budget. While we try to plan for contingencies, we admit we were blindsided by this one.
Both our building and the well belong to Sandoval County, and the Public Works Department is working hard to resolve this issue.
We appreciate your patience and support during these trying times.
