It’s a Celebration!labyrinth people

Please join us on Saturday, March 21, as we dedicate the labyrinth to the Volunteer Spirit of Placitas. Plan to join the outdoor celebration at PCL around 3:30. Enjoy music provided by the Placitas Artists Series and refreshments donated by Jardineros de Placitas. At 4:00 pm, we will begin a ceremony at the labyrinth entrance.

Casa Rosa Fundraiser  Following the dedication, you are invited to attend a fundraiser for Casa Rosa inside the library. There will be beverages, food and music. A donation of $10 per individual or $15 for couples/family is requested.

Join us on Saturday, March 7, at 10:00 to learn how to help birds in distress. Bring your camera and have your picture taken with one of the birds!

Author Vicki Dean Mayhew will read her book How The Unicorn Got Its Horn Back.  Learn what happens when Cally the Unicorn starts acting like a bully. Tuesday, March 10 at 3:30.

The Orphan Trains

Between 1854 and 1929, so-called “orphan trains” transported more than 200,000 orphaned, abandoned, and homeless children from the coastal cities of the eastern United States to the Midwest to find them new homes. Cory Franklin will share her grandfather’s story as one of those children.

¡Explora! is returning

Explora Science Museum will present a STEM-to-Read Story Hour “Round and Round” about wheels for ages 2 1/2 to 5.  Tuesday, March 17 at 3:00.  Reservations required:  call 867-3355.

And on Saturday, March 28, Explora is bringing a mini-museum to PCL, “The Science/Art Connection,”  with activities for the entire family. Drop-in between 10:00 and 12:30.
