On Oct 5, Placitas Community Library (PCL) welcomes artisans from Santo Domingo Pueblo to share a day of indigenous art with our neighbors. Over 20 artists will be on hand to display and sell their beautiful beaded, silver and turquoise jewelry, pottery and other arts. The Santo Domingo people, historically, are great traders of their crafts, very much like their Mesa Verde and Chaco Canyon ancestors.
This local Santo Domingo Pueblo “Indian Market” is a rare opportunity to experience a bit of this culture and art right here in Placitas. This is a unique event for both communities and we hope you will come out and enjoy the happenings. PCL is thrilled to host this annual event. Please join us at the Placitas Community Library, 452 Hwy 165, on Saturday, Oct 5 from 10-3. La Casita food truck will be on hand. Many in this area have fond memories of the fine New Mexican food and warm ambiance of La Casita Restaurant in Bernalillo. The La Casita Food Truck carries on this tradition. YUM!
