Virtual Sandia Family Science by Explora Science of Magic

Virtual Sandia Family Science will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2021 from 10:30 to 11 a.m. via Google meet.

Together, families will learn the Science of Magic. We’ll take a journey to investigate the science behind some simple magic-like activities you can do at home.

Below is a list of the materials that the Explora host will use – try to gather as many of these as possible to follow along with the Explora host.

• A deck of playing cards
• A piece of cloth (without a hem)
• Some sort of weighted object, such as a can of beans
• A few sheets of paper
• Scissors
• Pennies
• Tape
• A candle and a lighter
• Vinegar
• Baking Soda
• Spoon
• 2 Clear Cups

If you don’t have all the materials, don’t worry, it’s not required. Take it all in so you can try it out at a later time! You’ll still be able to follow along and enjoy the program.
